Mountaineering

Established 1944

The Mountaineering Club celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2024, with a formal dinner and clubrooms tour attended by alumni and current members alike. This year also saw Bikepacking join the club’s long list of activities, with trips taking club members around the state. Rock climbing continues to grow in the club, with frequent trips around Victoria and New South Wales. This year also saw the return of back country skiing to the Club, with an investment in new ski touring gear, and back country leadership training. The annual Adventure Grant was awarded to two applications, assisting club members on adventures in the Swiss Alps and New Zealand.
